Well, I went a wandering earlier this week and we also missed a couple of songs from the end of last week, so I thought I would add them in. We'll also take another look at our newer songs.

Song List
These Boots are Made for Walking
This Land is Your Land
Country Roads
King of the Road
Down By The Riverside
I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
Skipton Woods
Wild Mountain Thyme
Perfect
A Little Respect
Fields of Athenry
Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head
Fields of Gold
Wild Rover
The main thing with newer songs is to ensure that we are singing with the group. This means that it may be different from how it is done elsewhere, or how you may remember it from the radio. You may know it really well from elsewhere, but if we do not listen to others, we can drift onto our own personal timing and it can be disruptive. Once the group as a whole is familiar with the tune, then perhaps we can start to embellish on top of that, but we do need the foundation to be there first.
Here are the details for our upcoming gigs. This includes the party as well as our Summer break.
Upcoming Gigs
The first one is set. The others are still To Be Confirmed (TBC)
Tuesday 14th July @ 16:30
Craven Open Door. There is a sign up sheet for that.
Monday 3rd August (TBC)
We have had a request to take part in a charity event. This is during our break, but we may be able to do something. We will see when we have more details.
Saturday 3rd October (TBC)
Morrisons entrance. Details are still being finalised for this.
Thursday 8th October @7-9pm (TBC)
We have also been asked to take part in an event at this time. The gig team are still gathering information. I just wanted to mark it down.
Saturday 31st October (TBC)
Gargrave Beer Festival. I am sure we would like to do this one (hic!). Still TBC though.
Wednesday 9th December @evening
Still awaiting final details, but again trying to have even rough dates in there.
We will also have a couple of Xmas gigs in December so remember to forward song suggestions to the gig committee for that too.
Summer Party - 30th July
This will be similar to our other events and I will look for people who are willing to get up in front of the club to deliver a performance. It could be poetry, a joke, a dance or even... a song on the ukulele!
I think the food that we have done in previous events has always worked. Just remember to take home what is left from what you brought along. Any suggestions are always gratefully received. There is also a Jacob's Join list on the WhatsApp.
Summer Break
Our summer break will be from the Summer party and we will restart on the 27th August.
Well, that's it from me. I look forward to seeing you all at the club this week.
Gordon
