Club Night - 4th June 2026
Another week rolls round. We are building up to the Gala in a week or two so we will run through the five songs for that, but then we need to fill up the rest of the time. I was trying to come up with something and couldn't think of a theme as such, so I went foraging through our library to see what I could see. The list below is a result of that. A lot of songs that are a little fresher to the group, but I thought we did a reasonable job of. Song List Mustang Sally Chasing C

The heat is on, it's on the streets. It was nice to feel the heat, but there are limits too! Hopefully people were able to keep cool enough, The only songs that we will definitely look at are ones for the Gala. Not looking to spend loads of time on them, but just to keep them ticking along. Song List: Under the Boardwalk Into the Sun Here Comes the Sun Mamma Mia You Are My Sunshine Top of the World We’d like to Teach the World to Sing Rocking Allover the World San Francisco B

"We don't need no education...." Well actually, I think we can always learn something and this week Richard is going to be going through some things with us. So we will have a general session to start and Richard will go through some things after the tea break. I have looked out songs that feature school in them in some way. I have then picked out some that have World in them to go with the Ukuleles that are being decorated. Some of them are new and will need a sheet to be wr

We have a gig at the weekend, and while we are not all going down to the Mill, we will go through the songs on the set list. They are all really well known, so they should be a fun strum. Not too tricky either. Song List: Bring Me Sunshine Happy Together Scarborough Fair All I Have To Do Is Dream All My Loving Black Hills of Dakota Bad Moon Rising Dedicated Follower of Fashion Sway Octopus' Garden Mull of Kintyre Singing the Blues Half the World Away Sunny Afternoon We can th

I managed to resist the urge to reference Star Wars day. Almost... Well another week rolls by and we will be meeting up once more for some singing and playing together. This weekend I will be the Race Director for our local Parkrun, so that is the image. I did look for songs with Run in the title, but we do not seem to have more than a couple. Perhaps we can search some out for another night. Last week I was handed a list of great songs along with some ideas as to what we cou

Club Night - 30th April 2026
We are heading into another week and this week we will have an honoured guest. Bill is coming to see us. With that in mind, we will be trying to select some of his favourites. I also think that we will try to just have a nice broad mix of songs. There will be a list below, but there will also be a chance for people to ask for some tracks too I think. Song List Danny Boy C'mon Everybody Georgie Girl Good Luck Charm The Very Thought of You Heart of my Heart I Saw Her Standing T

As the world welcomed back the crew of the Artemis II mission, I welcome you all back to our wonderful club. And with that thought in my mind, there will be a theme this week of Space and the Moon. So songs featuring the moon or astronauts and the like. We have a fair few in our library already, but we may add some extras in as well. Song List: Bad Moon Rising Blue Moon (D) Carolina Moon Catch a Falling Star I'm the Urban Spaceman Man on the Moon Monty Python's Galaxy Song Mo

Club Night - 26th March 2026
It is our last night before our Easter break. We will be meeting again on the 16th April. As is usual at times like this we tend to have a looser night. If anyone has a floor spot they would like to share then tonight is the night! Failing that, I will be calling on you to supply song suggestions. No themes, just a fun strum. That being said, we may play any songs that we have recently re-drafted as well as playing Circle Game. We should also think about what song we want to

Well if it isn't just after St. Patrick' Day? It would be a shame if we did not mark it in some suitable fashion with a song or two from or about the emerald isle. So we will include as many as we can. We have a few on our own library and we surely can try to add some more I reckon. To be sure. We will also take another look at "Circle Game" as it is our song for the month so we can really get to grips with it. We will keep the learning or practice to the early part of the ev

What a wonderful week we had last time, with Liz leading us through a great selection of songs. We also came up with the idea of the "Song of the Month" where we focus on a song every week of that month. We will also revisit a couple of the recent additions. With that in mind, and if we have a revised song sheet, I would like to have "Circle Game". There is some real timing things that we need to watch out for. We can also look at some of the other songs that have recently b

Club Night - 26th February 2026
Well, another week rolls by. There is a gig this Friday, so if any of the songs could do with a little tweak then best to get them done. I was trying to think of a theme or idea to build the week around, but nothing has really occurred to me. It is also the last week of the month so I think that this is a good time to make it a free for all! With that in mind I would like everyone who attends to pick a song. I will not ask them to lead it, but just to give a song suggestion.

I hope you all had fun last week. It is good to be back and I am looking forward to seeing you all again. We have a mix of songs this week. They are all well known so we should be pretty comfortable with them. A few are for a gig that is coming up, so we will take a little bit of time to ensure we can deliver them well on the day. I have also added a few that relate somehow to last weekend as well. Some that we haven't done in quite a while, but I hope will be a lot of fun. T

Club Night - 5th February 2026
Club Night always comes around quickly. Last week we were having a bit of a fun strum as well as thinking about new songs for the club and perhaps a new song or two for gigging with. They would take some work, but could also be well worth the effort in the end. A couple that came from Jim's book were "Proud Mary" and "Moondance". I think that they both have real potential for us to learn. I realise that some people are putting forward songs and I would urge that we all contr

Gig-antic Club Night 28th January
After a really good AGM we are ready to get back to having fun and progressing with our plans. Part of that involves coming up with a gig book for the coming year. So with that in mind I would ask members to suggest tunes to include for our gigs this year. The idea is to have a range of tunes. Some old classics, some newer tunes as well as some that may be more unusual. In general they should come from our existing library, but I think that we could also include a couple of n

Club Night - 15th January 2026
It looks like it is a little bit warmer this week, so hopefully more people can make it along to the club. It will be great to see everyone. This is the last week before our AGM, so it is another random mix week. We have had a couple of suggestions and if I can find the music, I will endeavour to do my part. So I will be calling on you fantastic people to supply song choices. There have been emails going out with information about next weeks AGM, so please take a look at them

Welcome Back!
Club Night 8th January 2026. I hope everyone had a good break and were able to spend it with good people, good food and good times. Now is the start of a new year when all the resolutions are still fresh and we can be full of plans for the new year. So with that in mind I am trying to pick some songs that reflect that: Song List: This Train is Bound for Glory Wagon Wheel (G) Monty Python's Galaxy Song Just Can't Get Enough Don't Worry, Be Happy Johnny B Goode It Doesn't Matte

Party Time! 18th December
We have played our final gig. Thanks so much to everyone who took part. In fact a massive thanks to all who took part in any of our gigs this year. It means a lot that you are able to give your time to entertain and bring a smile to people through our little instruments. So it is PARTY TIME!!!!! (always be wary of someone who uses too many exclamation marks.) My plan here is for it to be a little 'chaotic'. So my plan is to put names into a hat and draw from there. There will

It's Christmaaaas! (nearly)
Club Night - 4th December. Well we had a great gig on Sunday, the sun was shining, everyone was singing and we had a great time and did really well. Thanks to everyone who helped and took part! We still have a couple more concerts to go. It may seem like a lot, but at the festive season it can happen. So we will start by running through the list for the Osteoporosis gig on the 8th: Osteoporosis Gig List Feliz Navidad White Christmas Christmas Medley (counted as two/three song

Keep on Running!
For those about to do it, good luck for Sunday in the Santa Fun Run! It is also our last chance to do a final rehearsal for our performance as well. As such we will go through the complete set list for Sunday in that order. Then I have come up with a load of songs that have run in them. As much as I would like "Keep on Running", "Run To You", "Run to the Hills", "Running Free", "Runaway" etc, we do not have the song sheets so I have had to be a bit more imaginative! Switch On
