Club Night - 8th October 2026
So, I was sat at home as I was teaching remotely and looked at my son's telescope and it gave me the idea of doing songs with moons and stars and the like. So that's what I will start with this week.

We also had an amazing time playing at Morrisons. While we were never going to have a crowd, we could see the smiles of the shoppers and plenty were singing along as they walked in. We also helped Yorkshire Air Ambulance raise over £460!
We have also tempted some people to come along to see what we are about, so let's give them a warm reception. I know that goes without saying, but I said it anyway.
As you all hopefully know, the planned concert at the Town Hall has been postponed. So we will not have any disruption to our playing together.
Song List
Dance the Night Away
Catch a Falling Star
Blue Moon

Fly Me To the Moon

Help Me Make it Through the Night

Space Oddity
That is what I came up with. We will need to think about some rehearsal for the Beer Festival and we will also need to think about what songs on our Christmas list will require work to get them gig ready. If we run out of songs and we get no suggestions from the floor, then maybe we should start them now??
Upcoming Gigs
Here is the list of gigs that we currently have in our schedule.
Saturday 31st October @3pm
Gargrave Beer Festival. This was great fun last year and I am sure it will be again this time. We were also given some beer tokens to sample the offerings as well!
Wednesday 9th December Threshfield WI
We had some more detailslast week, but I can't remember what was said. I do believe there may have been mention of Jerusalem, but unsure on the jam. Also, it is an evening performance.
Sunday 13th December - Holy Trinity Church
This will be a daytime gig. More details to come.
The Xmas song list is out now. Hopefully people have picked up a copy. I know that some people may only want to play xmas songs only in December but that is just not what needs to happen. We want to entertain as much as possible. The best way to avoid practice time at the club, is to practice at home so that we only need to play a song once or twice and we are ready. We will need to practice them in November. Possibly even October if there is a particular song we want to include, but do not have gig ready.
We are also asking that you think about what could be in the "Gig Book" for next year. What was missing from this year? Is there a new song that we really should work on and add to it? As stated in the club last week, try to create a list and then email it in. That way we can have a more anonymous selection.
I look forward to seeing you all this Thursday.
Gordon
