Club Night - 1st October 2026
Autumn is upon us. The nights are darker and the weather is getting cooler. But we can still spread warmth as we come together once again on Thursday.

Last week we did a lot of good practice on the songs for the coming gig. We will be doing soe of that once again too. We want everyone who plays with the group to feel that they did their best and that no one leaves feeling that things could have been better. It is important to remember that we are doing this for fun too. So if there is a mishap, then we just get past it and carry on.
I have left the full list of gig songs on the evening's list, but we don't have to do them all again. No theme this week either, but I have been sent a great one for a future evening. Mid-October perhaps? The songs in bold are for the short performance next week. We will do them again this week too. Please also remember to share the poster for the even on your social media to raise further awareness of the event.
We will also need to think about what Christmas songs we need to rehearse and polish for the coming season. While I know some people would rather leave these to just December, that is just not possible in the group. So as we near the end of the month do not be surprised if a song or two pops up in the mix.

Upcoming Gigs
Here is the list of gigs that we currently have in our schedule.
Saturday 3rd October - Morrisons
Final arrangements for the charity gig this forthcoming Saturday, 3rd October at Morrisons Skipton. Please gather in Morrison’s foyer from 11.20 am. We will start once the PA and sound has been set up. We’re doing two performances of up to 45 mins each.
If you come by car be sure to make sure your car registration is on the sign up sheet, as this will ensure there will be no charges if we exceed 2 1/2 hours, which we shouldn’t.
Club tops please or your nearest equivalent.
Music and music stands will be provided. If you need a seat please let the gig team know.
Thursday 8th October @7:45pm
The Town Hall will be available from 3pm on the day and we're welcome to come and drop off the music and stands then if that helps? We would have a little rehearsal in the club and then go to the hall. Then we would head back to finish our night.
Saturday 31st October @3pm
Gargrave Beer Festival. This was great fun last year and I am sure it will be again this time. We were also given some beer tokens to sample the offerings as well!
Wednesday 9th December Threshfield WI
Still awaiting final details, but it is an evening performance.
Sunday 13th December - Holy Trinity Church
This will be a daytime gig. More details to come.
The Xmas song list is out now. Hopefully people have picked up a copy. I know that some people may only want to play xmas songs only in December but that is just not what needs to happen. We want to entertain as much as possible. The best way to avoid practice time at the club, is to practice at home so that we only need to play a song once or twice and we are ready. We will need to practice them in November. Possibly even October if there is a particular song we want to include, but do not have gig ready.
We are also asking that you think about what could be in the "Gig Book" for next year. What was missing from this year? Is there a new song that we really should work on and add to it? As stated in the club last week, try to create a list and then email it in. That way we can have a more anonymous selection.
Well, I hope that is everything. I look forward to seeing you all at the club this week.
Gordon
