Club Night - 22nd October 2026
It is getting to that time of year when there seems to be another event happening every week. At least it can feel that way. We have some gigs coming and we will be doing Christmas songs very soon.
However our next gig is going to be at the Gargrave Beer Festival.

That gig is on Halloween, however we will not be dressing up in anything other than Club tops etc. The venue is a chruch and they do not want that. This is of course totally fine.
On that note, I will make next week a more halloween themed week. So I will see if there are any songs that we could do. We tried a few at Sussies and they were not all successful. We will still have a bit of preparation for the gig as well. The gig songs are in italics.

Upcoming Gigs
Here is the list of gigs that we currently have in our schedule.
Saturday 31st October @3pm St. Andrew's Church
Gargrave Beer Festival. This was great fun last year and I am sure it will be again this time. We were also given some beer tokens to sample the offerings as well!
Dress code is club tops and black trousers.
Friday 27/11 Woodlands Abbyfield 11am (Christmas songs)
Wednesday 9th December Evening - Linton Women's Institute
We had some more detailslast week, but I can't remember what was said. I do believe there may have been mention of Jerusalem, but unsure on the jam. Also, it is an evening performance.
Sunday 13th December - Holy Trinity Church
This will be a daytime gig. More details to come.
The Xmas song list is out now. I do hope people have a copy. I know that some people may only want to play xmas songs only in December but that is just not what needs to happen. We want to entertain as much as possible. The best way to avoid practice time at the club, is to practice at home so that we only need to play a song once or twice and we are ready. We will need to practice them in November. Possibly even October if there is a particular song we want to include, but do not have gig ready.
We are also asking that you think about what could be in the "Gig Book" for next year. What was missing from this year? Is there a new song that we really should work on and add to it? As stated in the club last week, try to create a list and then email it in. That way we can have a more anonymous selection.
Please select songs for the new years gig list from the current library. They can be quite recent, but we need to know that the club has tried them at least once before.
I look forward to seeing you all this Thursday.
Gordon
