Well if it isn't just after St. Patrick' Day? It would be a shame if we did not mark it in some suitable fashion with a song or two from or about the emerald isle.
So we will include as many as we can. We have a few on our own library and we surely can try to add some more I reckon. To be sure.
We will also take another look at "Circle Game" as it is our song for the month so we can really get to grips with it.
We will keep the learning or practice to the early part of the evening and round it out with a proper session of Irish songs.
Song List
Wild Rover
Dirty Old Town
The Fields of Athenry (in F)
Circle Game
Possible couple songs from our gig list for a final practice
Delaney's Donkey
Galway Girl
Irish Rover
Moondance
Mustang Sally
Paddy McGinty's Goat
Teenage Kicks
Whiskey in the Jar
With or Without You (in D)
Tell Me Ma
Rose Tattoo (floor spot by me)
The last one on that list is by The Dropkick Murphys. I was asked to play it so gave it a listen and will give it a crack!
We have had our Committee meeting and it was good to hear everyone's input and we will try our best to pay attention to any suggestions we get. Part of this is to try to reduce the amount of gig practice we do.
We will also start adding in some workshops or small segments on theory or strumming to help people gain more skills and confidence in their instruments.
If the committee wish to announce anything we can do so at the break.

Gordon
