Club Night 28th September 2023

ree

Hi all,

Looking forward to seeing you all again on Thursday ...

And we will be saying a fond farewell to Vicki and Roland who first came along in 2021 and have been great Club members ever since. (they won't be getting this message because we want to save a few surprises for them)

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the farewell gift.

Thank you also to Annie who has worked very hard to organise a farewell party for them.

But First, a COVID alert ... - Helen tested positive for COVID yesterday, so all those who were at Woodlands may wish to do some testing. I will be informing the Woodlands staff, and let's all hope that Helen's encounter with the enemy is a mild one

Official start-time for the main session is 7:15 but please feel free to arrive early (any time from 6:30) for social chat and beginners' help, and for those bringing cakes and anything else for the party.

Thank you to our Volunteers for tomorrow ... Linda(Catering) and Shona (Projector)

A quick reminder of what is in progress, and also news of booking enquiries ...

Woodlands Care Home - Well done everyone, we were short of a few key people, but still put on a great show and we were very well received. .. Lovely feedback from the organisers and audience.

Threshfield Court ... Afternoon of Wednesday 4th October. (Arrive by 1:30 for 2:30 start)

Sign-up sheet is on the admin table. 12names so far ... Let's have another good turn-out and put on a great show for one of our favourite venues!

Craven Open Door (one of our designated charities) Probably 5pm on Tuesday 10th October - will be confirmed shortly. to be announced as soon as possible. Only 5 names so far, we need at least a couple more

PLAYLIST THRESHFIELD COURT WILL BE BASED ON THE PLAYLISTS WE USED AT ILKLEY AND AT WOODLANDS COURT

Incredible Edible National Apple Day 22nd October (probably afternoon)

This enquiry is at a very early stage, and so far Richard has been dealing with the communications - We will give you an update on this on Thursday.

Other things going on

From October, I will be taking a break for the first Thursday of each month. This will give me some much-needed time off and will also give the members the opportunity to run evenings without me controlling it all, and to generate new ideas for how the Club can move forward.

Drama at the Town Hall !

14 people booked via me to go to this event on Wednesday 25th October. The Town Hall have e-mailed me one ticket to cover all 14 people, but have also advised me not to print multiple copies! I am resolving this with them, hopefully this week.

For Vicki and Roland we are focussing this week on farewell songs and nautical songs. Thank you everyone who has made suggestions and requests -

Here is the list as it stands at the moment ....

Sloop John B ( Big Book)

Aloha Oe ( attached )

Moon River (attached )

Bye Bye Love (Big Book)

Fiddlers' Green (attached)

I'll Follow the Sun (attached )
