Why are there so many ....

ree

..Songs about colours?

And what's on the other side?

Club Night - 17th July.

It's all about colours this week and what a lot of suggestions we got.

We have a bunch from Jim's Ukulele Songbook that we can try to see if we want to make them our own.

The email to the club members will contain a zip file with just those songs. If you do not have that then go to his site and download his mammoth book. All 4340 pages!!

We are approaching the summer break and so we have a couple of theme nights and this week it was colours. So what is the list that you suggested?

Well.... Some I could not find song sheets for. A couple I will try to create something for, but I am not sure if I will have time. Songs with "Jim" are from Jim's book. But enough waffle from me, here is the list:

Playlist

  1. Green Door (The)

  2. Blue Moon

  3. Rainbow Connection - Jim

  4. Colours - Donovan - Jim

  5. Yellow

  6. Red Light Spells Danger

  7. Paint it Black - Jim

  8. Yellow Submarine - Jim

  9. San Francisco Bay Blues

  10. Folsom Prison Blues

  11. Green Green Grass of Home - Tom Jones - Jim

  12. Green Green Grass - Jim

  13. Blue Velvet - Jim

  14. Forever in Blue Jeans - Jim

  15. Big Yellow Taxi - Jim

  16. Try - P!nk (Songsheet needed)

  17. Black Sabbath - Paranoid or War Pigs (Songsheet needed)

  18. Coat of Many Colours - Jim

  19. Red Red Wine - Jim

  20. Baby's in Black - Jim

If we run out then we will just wing it!

As we are approaching the club's summer break in about three weeks' time and that comes immediately after our party on 31st July, the gig team would like to update you about two upcoming gigs here and they need your help. The gigs are as follows:

Steeton Court Care Home

Friday 19th September, 2025  14:30 - 15:15

(Led by Linda). Rehearsal for that will start straight away as soon as we are back from our summer break on 28th August.

Please check your calendar about your availability and sign up to take part as widely as possible. There will be a sign up sheet ready for you to do so on Thursday. Thank you.

Gargrave Beer Festival

Saturday 25th October, 2015 15:30 - 16:15

(Led by Annie although she won't be there on the actual day and Gordon has kindly agreed to be the contact person on that day for SUC and Alison Lucas who organises and runs the above event).

Annie will need to let Alison know by 29th August if the gig is going ahead or not.

Due to limited room at St Andrew's Church Hall, Gargrave where the event will take place they can only allow up to no more than ten members from SUC.

So far we have got 7 people who signed up for that...There are still 3 places left.

If you are free and would like to help out please do sign up to confirm your place. First comes first serves...Again the sign up sheet will be at our club session on Thursday for you to do that. Thank you.

As the organiser is raising funds for their church roof, instead of giving a monetary charity donation to SUC for our contributions which is what usually happens but this time, we will get tokens for food and drinks in its place.

Next week is the recurring nightmare... no... I mean dreams! (part 2)

So you still have a little time to come up with ideas.

Looking forward to seeing you all again

Gordon
