Club Night always comes around quickly. Last week we were having a bit of a fun strum as well as thinking about new songs for the club and perhaps a new song or two for gigging with. They would take some work, but could also be well worth the effort in the end.
A couple that came from Jim's book were "Proud Mary" and "Moondance". I think that they both have real potential for us to learn.
I realise that some people are putting forward songs and I would urge that we all contribute where we can. With that in mind, here are some that we have played well in the past, but maybe not so recently.
The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It)
Ain't Misbehaving
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Moon River
Chasing Cars
Daydream
Don't Stop
Fields of Gold
Galway Girl
Good Luck Charm
Good Riddance
The Green Door
Here Comes the Sun
It's Raining Men
Jolene
Just Cant Get Enough
Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard
Oh Boy
Sail This Ship Alone
The Letter
This Land is Your Land (local)
Wild Mountain Thyme
You Got It.
Now that is too many songs for one night, but I have come up with a mix of some that we could do at a gig, or are just plain fun to play.
Ideally next week we can have a list from others of songs that we could think about?
Either way we will have a gig coming in the next few weeks so if there is a list for that and songs on that list that need a spruce up or practice then please let me know.
